Dietary preparations for making up with water comprise an assimilable bland fat, e.g. arachis, cottonseed, sesame or olive oil, absorbed in particles, e.g. flakes, of a water-dispersible, assimilable protein, e.g. freeze dried egg white, potassium or calcium caseinate, of low bulk density, e.g. 4-6.5 ml/g. The preparations may contain additional water-dispersible, assimilable proteins, e.g. vegetable proteins, dried whole milk, dried skim milk, sugars such as sucrose and glucose, water-soluble dextrin, vitamins and salts of sodium, iron, manganese, copper and molybdenum soluble in digestive juices. According to an example, a preparation, in which the proportion of fat to calcium caseinate is 1.25 : 1, is made by blending a mixture of ascorbic acid, nicotinic acid, calcium-D-pantothenate, aneurine hydrochloride, pyridoxine hydrochloride, Vitamin B12 and calcium caseinate, a mixture of potassium dihydrogen phosphate, sodium chloride, saccharated ferrous carbonate, manganous carbonate, copper carbonate, sodium molybdate, cobalt oxide and icing sugar, and a mixture of Vitamin A palmitate, Vitamin D2, a -tocopherol acetate, menaphthone (Vitamin K) and arachis oil into castor sugar, spray dried skim milk, arachis oil and calcium caseinate. |
