An unbalanced antenna in which a radiation conductor and a grounding conductor are spaced at an arbitrary interval. At least a part facing the radiation conductor of the ground conductor is left to maintain the action as a minus electrode for establishing a near electromagnetic field distribution between the ground conductor and the radiation conductor facing the ground conductor. Part of the size-reduced ground conductor, specifically the end parts apart from a feed unit, is composed of a conductor of low conductance, thereby ensuring impedance matching. If the size of the ground conductor is extremely reduced, mode mismatching inevitably occurs. Therefore, at least part of the outer conductor of a coaxial feed line connected to the feed unit is covered with a current absorber. Thus, the leakage current is forcedly suppressed, and the size of the ground conductor can be reduced while maintaining the antenna characteristics.
|
