PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an infrared sensor device capable of detecting accurately the existing position of a person or the like, and detecting the presence of a human or the like, in a region comparatively close to the infrared sensor device and comparatively wide. SOLUTION: A pyroelectric element 1 having first detection regions 11, 12, 13, 14 and a pyroelectric element 2 having second detection regions 21, 22, 23, 24 are arranged at prescribed interval. Each and/or between the first detection regions 11, 12, 13, 14 and the second detection regions 21, 22, 23, 24 is detected, by using a signal from the first pyroelectric element 1 and a signal from the second pyroelectric element 2, and the existing position and the movement of a detection object are detected. Since the two pyroelectric elements, having the plurality of detection regions are arranged mutually at the interval, the resolution in the detection range of the detection object can be enhanced.
