PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an actuator for an automatic transmission, suitably detecting the position of a shift fork or the like while suppressing the cost. SOLUTION: The body of a positioning sensor 22 is located outside of a housing, and a projecting part 22b of a detecting armature 22a as a detecting part is provided inside in the radial direction of a screw shaft 17, whereby the position sensor is hardly influenced by lubricating oil and temperature in the automatic transmission.
