PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simple method for obtaining a difluorinated perhalogeno cyclic derivative in a high yield with a high proportion of a trans-difluorinated form from a tetrahalogeno form or a monofluorinated form wherein one of halogens in the tetrahalogeno form is substituted with fluorine. SOLUTION: In the method for preparing the difluorinated perhalogeno cyclic derivative for formula (II), a perhalogenated cyclic derivative of formula (I) (wherein Q<SP>1</SP>, Q<SP>2</SP>and Q<SP>3</SP>are each Cl or Br; X is F, Cl or Br; C<SP>1</SP>and C<SP>2</SP>are each a carbon atom; and A is a 1-20C bivalent perfluorocarbon group) is treated with HF in the presence of a strong Lewis acid.
