<p>The linear actuator (1) has a pneumatic, hydraulic or electric piston and cylinder unit driving a linearly movable driven component in a longitudinal direction. The piston (2) which is movable relative to the cylinder (3) is constructed to act upon a flexible drive component (9) for power transmission, with the flexible drive component penetrating the cylinder covers (7,8).
