PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a content from being wrongfully downloaded from a server or being wrongfully reproduced, even when a password or the like is used fraudulently. SOLUTION: A digital content reproduction system has a server 10 for distribution and management of content and a PC terminal 20 which is connected to the server 10 through a communication line and reproduces a content downloaded from the server 10. A terminal ID for specifying the PC terminal 20 is registered in a management file 113 of the server 10, and a terminal ID given from the server 10 or given to the PC terminal 20 from beginning is recorded in a prescribed memory area of a storage device 22 in the PC terminal 20. The server 10 judges whether a terminal ID transferred from the PC terminal 20 coincides with the registered terminal ID or not when receiving the terminal ID transferred from the PC terminal 20 and doesn't download a content to the PC terminal 20 or inhibits reproduction of the content in the case of non-coincidence.
