PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a driving device for a display panel such as a PDP and an EL in which high-speed operation can be attained and power consumption can be reduced by simplified constitution. SOLUTION: In the display panel driving device for generating driving pulses to be impressed to respective electrodes of a display panel having a plurality of row electrodes and a plurality of column electrodes arrayed so as to intersect with the row electrodes, a switching means arranged between one end of a coil and the other terminal of a DC power supply to alternately connect and disconnect one end of the coil and the other terminal of the DC power supply regards a potential change generated on the other end of the coil by connecting one end of the coil and the other terminal of the DC power supply as a driving pulse and the connecting operation of the switching means becomes only one operation for generating driving pulses.
