PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical connection structure which is easy to assemble when optical functional components constituting the optical connection structure are connected to each other, and enables a worker to easily carry out splicing work, without damaging optical fibers, and further effectively use the space on a substrate. SOLUTION: An optical connection structure 100 has an adapter 101 comprising two connection members 1, 2 which have two respective optical fibers 10, 20 fitted thereto and are faced to each other; a cam member 103, for shifting the connection members 1, 2 in the axial direction of the optical fibers 10, 20; and a pressing means 10, for directly or indirectly pressing the optical fibers 10, 20 in the axial direction of the optical fibers 10, 20.
