PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a self-priming pump excellent in electrical safety and dissolving a defect that conventional self-priming pumps have a problem that, depending on variation in thicknesses of a motor cover and a bracket, lengths of fixing screws and a depth of the motor cover, it is impossible to ensure a space distance between an end face of a copper wire and ends of the fixing screws when the bracket is fixed to the motor cover and that this causes deterioration of the electrical safety. SOLUTION: Burring of thread portions on the motor cover 2 is formed projectingly outward from the inside, screw fixing portions of the bracket 3 are bent in single layers and an outside of the burring on the motor cover 2 is used as a guide for fixing the bracket so the bracket fixing screws 9 are prevented from entering the motor cover 2 and the space distance between the copper wire end face and the ends of the bracket fixing screws is thus ensured.
