PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a remote controller immune to external noise wherein a few turning operations are enough to be applied to turning operation sections required for selecting a desired item. SOLUTION: In the remote controller 1 having a main body part 2 and a remote operation terminal 3, the main body part 2 includes: a display section 18 for displaying items to be selected and one item in a selecting state; and a control section 16 for changing the item brought into the selecting state and making the display section 18 display the changed item. The remote operation terminal 3 includes: a turning operation section 26 which is freely turnable; a turning detection section 32 for detecting the turning of the turning operation section 26 to output a pulse signal; and a turning signal processing section 34 for detecting the turning speed of the turning operation section 26 on the basis of the pulse signal from the turning detection section 32 and selecting an item change speed corresponding to the turning speed. The control section 16 of the main body part 2 changes an item brought into the selection state at the item change speed selected by the remote operation terminal 3 and makes the display section 18 display the item.
