The agglomeration procedure for an iron ore bed on a mobile grille consists of an ignition and/or combustion front propagation stage in a first zone, a second stage in which the combustion front is spread into a second zone, and a cooling stage in a third zone. The fumes generated in the first and second stages are drawn downwards through the grille and reintroduced, optionally enriched with oxygen, to be incinerated by burners, preferably fuelled by gas or oil inside a hood in the first zone and/or by the combustion front in the second.
