A resin composition for coating an electric wire which comprises a polyolefin resin and, mixed therewith, a polyolefin resin composition having superfine nylon fibers dispersed in a polyolefin, wherein the polyolefin resin composition has a weight ratio of a polyolefin resin (PO) and superfine nylon fibers (Ny) preferably of 5 : 5 to 9 : 1 (PO : Ny), more preferably of 8 : 2 (PO : Ny), and wherein the polyolefin resin composition may further contain at least one type of silica particles and magnesium hydroxide particles.
