PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radiography recorder/reader by which more stable high definition image is obtained by setting various conditions at the time of recording and reading of a radiograph in consideration of shift of correlation between an instantaneous light emitting characteristic and a photostimulable light emitting characteristic. SOLUTION: In the radiography recorder/reader 100, featured values of light emitting characteristics of instantaneous emitted light emitted from a plate 4 at the time of radiation irradiation are measured by an instantaneous light emitting characteristic measurement means 17, a result is stored, temperature near the plate 4 is measured by a temperature sensor 20 and a result is stored. In addition, featured values of light emitting characteristics of photostimulable emitted light generated from the plate 4 at the time of irradiation of the photostimulable light are measured and stored by a photostimulable emitted light characteristic measurement means 17. At the time of the next radiograph recording and reading, conditions of each part are set and an operation is performed under the set conditions based on the stored featured values (including the temperature) and user setting in a various condition setting means 21 and the operation is performed under the set conditions.
