PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing an electro-graphite busing liner that reduces wear of trunnions and bushings of a gas turbine. SOLUTION: The method for improving the wear characteristics of a bushing 23 comprises the steps of providing the bushing 23 comprising an internal surface having an inner diameter and both ends, and pressing a graphite based substance 11 around the internal surface of the bushing 23.
