PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a brace structure of a building such as a house, especially a wooden building, which can enhance the durability and stability of the building by properly absorbing vibrational energy on the occurrence of earthquakes etc. SOLUTION: Characteristically, the brace B, which is arranged in an inclined state between adjacent columns and/or between horizontal members of the building, comprises at least a hollow pipe-like brace body 1, a vibrational energy absorbing mechanism 2 which uses a plastically deformable metal as a vibration absorber, and a telescopic length-adjusting mechanism 3.
