PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the manufacturing cost of a headrest stay which supports a headrest for an automobile to a seat back. SOLUTION: Two longer sections 10a and a connecting section 10d which connects both longer sections 10a are formed by bending one pipe member made of a metal into an inverted U shape. In addition, shorter sections 10b being in parallel with the longer sections 10a are formed by bending the connecting section 10d forward in a manner to be confronted with the two longer sections 10a for this headrest stay 10. On the internal sides of respective shorter sections 10b, a U shape curved section 10e which is bent into an approximate U shape, and an inverted U shape curved section 10f which is bent into an inverted U shape are formed, and an interval s between both curved sections 10e and 10f are formed to be narrower than an interval between both longer sections 10a. The interval between both curved sections 10e and 10f is set to be a dimension through which a spherical body of a predetermined dimension (R=1,650 mm) cannot pass. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
