Adsorption drier for compressed air has at least two adsorber vessels whose inlets and outlets are fitted with switch valves. Each outlet also has its own throttle valve (34) and each inlet has its own vent valve. The vessels are fitted with a head section (50) and can be removed from a fixed mounting (23) to allow the valve components which are subject to wear to be replaced. An independent claim is included for a method for changing cartridges subject to wear and materials which are used up in an adsorption drier as described, in which the connectors to the mounting are unfastened, the adsorber vessel and head are removed and adsorbent (62) and valve components are replaced, after which the vessel is reconnected.
