The device has first component parts which each remain within a prepared firewood bundle and which are each provided by a core piece (1) and a tension rod (2) and component parts which are combined to provide sidewalls (3), a rearwall (4) and spacers (5) for assembly of individual firewood bundles. The latter can be wrapped in an outer sheathing, the first component part used for further handling of the individual firewood bundle.
