SOLVENT-FREE VARNISH AND METHOD OF OBTAINING SAME

A solvent free paint (I) is prepared by mixing water, pigment and binding agent. The binding agent is an acrylate having a minimum film forming temperature of less than or equal to 14 degrees C. Preferably the acrylate has a minimum film forming temperature of less than or equal to 5 degrees C and is thixotropic. The acrylate is added as a bimodal acrylate dispersion. An aqueous solution of a polyurethane thickening agent is added. The composition contains a titanium chelate. The acrylate has a self-crosslinking capability. The composition has an open time of at least 10 minutes and contains crosslinking agent, thickening agent, defoamer and/or preservative.
