<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a backlight assembly eliminating one or a plurality of defects and limitations caused by a conventional technology. <P>SOLUTION: The backlight assembly includes a light source irradiating beam of light and a reflecting plate equipped with a base and a plurality of side walls extended from the base.
