<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a porous sheet material capable of giving such a porous sheet as to be uniformly microporous and have a feeling of rich flexibility, when the porous sheet is formed by subjecting a polyurethane resin to wet coagulation. <P>SOLUTION: The polyurethane resin for a synthetic leather is given by reacting a polymer diol (A) with an organic diisocyanate (B) and a chain extender (C) and has a coagulation index of not less than 2 and not more than 5, wherein the polymer diol (A) comprises a polycarbonate diol (a1) formed out of a 4-6C alkanediol and a polycarbonate diol (a2) formed out of a 7-12C alkanediol.
