PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an X-ray generating apparatus using hemimorphic crystal efficiently. SOLUTION: In the X-ray generating apparatus equipped with an X-ray generating target 23, a hemimorphic crystal 20 which has a positive electrode surface opposed to the inner surface of the target at an arbitrary angle and a negative electrode surface on the opposite side, and a heating/cooling stage 25 having a metal surface retained at the ground potential to raise and descend the temperature of this crystal while sustaining the hemimorphic crystal so as to be opposed to the negative electrode surface, the X-ray is discharged from the target.
