PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for shape estimation capable of estimating the shape of an object in a supposed environment with consideration given to external force, and a method and an apparatus for analytic element generation for easily generating an analytic element capable of being used therefor. SOLUTION: The shape of the object in an acquisition environment, external force in the supposed environment, and a deformation factor including temperature are input by an input means 2. On the basis of shape data and the deformation factor, a data processing system 3 performs analytical computation to estimate a shape in the supposed environment. For estimating the shape, a formula for analysis, a finite element method (FEM), a boundary element method, and neural networks are used. For using FEM, the data processing system 3 generates a tentative FEM mesh on the basis of a designed shape, compares the coordinates for the tentative FEM mesh and the object at a plurality of reference points, and generates a FEM mesh as analytic elements by deforming the tentative FEM mesh so that the coordinates will match.
