PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication terminal capable of saving a wasteful communication cost by unreasonable mail transmission. SOLUTION: Each of communication terminals 1 and 2 has one or more of functions of being connected to a network (Internet 5) to transmit mails; checking the text size of a mail to be transmitted and the name size of an attachment file; making the check result into a text; and determining or predicting that a transmitting destination is a portable terminal. Each terminal further has the function of forming and transmitting only a mail summary, when it can be predicted at the time of transmitting a mail that the transmitting destination is a portable terminal which cannot regularly receive the mail to be transmitted, and determining whether the original mail is transmitted or not after reading a response from a receiving user.
