EMERGENCY STOP DEVICE OF ELEVATOR CAR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To fit an emergency stop device to a car guide rail without forming any cutout part for the emergency stop device in the car guide rail. SOLUTION: The emergency stop device has holding devices 4a which are provided on both sides of a bottom part of a car 3 traveling while being guided by a pair of car guide rails 2 and stops the car 3 by holding the car guide rails 2 facing each other in an emergency stop, and also has a holding means to hold at least one of the pair of holding devices 4a at the bottom part of the car 3 in an advancing/retracting manner to/from the car guide rails 2. The holding means includes a long hole 4b formed in at least one of the holding devices 4a side or at least one of the bottom part side of the car 3 facing the corresponding holding device 4a, and a bolt 4c which is inserted in the long hole 4b to tighten the bottom part of the car 3 and the holding device 4a.
