PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a tubular package which can be performed easily and which is suitable for use in a continuous machine and which ensures the tubular wrapping to be closed, without applying harmful impacts by a tubular wrapping material sheet to a fixed type folding member. SOLUTION: In a folding apparatus 1, a product 5 is inserted in a U-shaped pocket 16, together with the tubular package material sheet 4, and a first side part of the tubular package material sheet 4 is interposed between the product 5 and a first sidewall 19 of the pocket 16, and a second side part, opposing the first side part of the tubular package material sheet 4, is folded as intersecting the first side part, while it goes across the pocket 16 toward the outside of the pocket 16, to form the tubular wrapping 3 around the product 5. In the folding apparatus 1, the tubular wrapping is closed, by moving a first sidewall 19 of the pocket 16 toward the outside and at the same time, by moving a contrast member 34 on the first side part and by folding the second side part on the product 5 with the outside folding member to overlap the first side part.
