PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a metal mask which is for use in forming a solder end on which electronic parts are mounted with high density, by using cream solder according to screen printing, wherein the metal mask is free from defectiveness such as cracking, slipout, and chipping of the solder end caused by defective plate separation, and defective cream solder detachability from an opening even if a high-definition pattern is printed with high density and at high speed, and free from defectiveness at the solder end even if printing is repeatedly carried out, and to provide a method of manufacturing the metal mask. SOLUTION: According to the method of manufacturing the metal mask, a metal mask flat having the opening for cream solder printing for a wiring pattern, is subjected to intermittent electro-polishing, and thereafter at least a wall surface of the opening formed in the metal mask flat is coated with a metal plating film containing fluorocarbon resin particulates.
