PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a polymer for forming an organic electroluminescent device, with which a thin film can be formed by the wet method, and the organic electroluminescent device that can achieve light emission high in luminous luminance and stable even during continuous driving can be provided, and a polymer composition for the organic electroluminescent device, and the organic electroluminescent device. SOLUTION: The polymer has specific structural units in its main chain. The polymer for forming the electroluminescent device is used to constitute the electroluminescent device. The polymer composition for the electroluminescent device comprises a polymer component composed of the polymer for forming the organic electroluminescent device and a complex component composed of an iridium complex that is a triplet luminescent material.
