Passengers operate reading lights (RL) (11a-11c) individually and independently of each other via individual RL switches (12a-12c). An RL switch can be set between a first switch position, in which it links the associated reading lights (ARL) to a first voltage supply wire (VSW) (13), and a second switch position, in which it links the ARL to a second VSW (14). An independent claim is also included for a means of transport like a coach with many passenger seats.
