LIGHTING SYSTEM AND ILLUMINATION SYSTEM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lighting system further safe against occurrence of an unexpected power fault by adding a function allowing a checker to interrupt a checking operation of a secondary battery to prevent unnecessary discharge of the secondary battery and thereby reducing a time from checking operation interruption until the secondary battery is fully charged, in a lighting system equipped with a means for forcibly lighting a lamp for checking the secondary battery. SOLUTION: This lighting system comprises: a lighting means for lighting the lamp 2 by power supply from the secondary battery 1; a voltage detection part 9 for detecting the voltage of the secondary battery 1; a checkout means for forcibly lighting the lamp 2 for more than a predetermined checkout time by the lighting means to check the secondary battery 1 from detection output of the voltage detection part 9; and a signal generation part 15 for outputting a checkout start signal of the secondary battery 1. The lighting system is so structured that the checking operation is interrupted when the checkout start signal is outputted during the checking operation by the checkout means.
