METHOD, PROGRAM, AND SYSTEM FOR SUMMARIZING STREAM OF ORDERED INFORMATION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system and method for using a probabilistic factorization of similarity matrix so as to identify a base vector of the similarity matrix. SOLUTION: A stream of ordered information such as audio, video and/or text data is windowed and parameterized. The similarity among streams in which the ordered information has been parameterized and windowed can be decided and the probabilistic factorization or probabilistic matrix factorization such as non-negative matrix factorization can be applied to the similarity matrix. A component matrix obtained as a result of the factorization shows a main component or segment of the ordered information. Then, a summary can be extracted from the stream of the ordered information on the basis of the component matrix so as to generate a summary of the ordered information stream.
