PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for continuous casting, which can add metallic elements having low melting points or low boiling points to a molten metal with high yielding ratio, and further can uniformly distribute the metal elements into a metal ingot, and to provide an apparatus therefor. SOLUTION: (1) In the method and apparatus for continuous casting of the molten metal by supplying the molten metal into a casting mold via a tundish, metallic vapor and/or metallic powder is supplied from an immersed lance immersed in the tundish or a lance immersed in the casting mold. (2) In the method and apparatus for continuous casting of molten metal, a wire or a rod containing the metallic elements to be added is inserted into the bore of the immersed lance instead of the metallic vapor or the metallic powder described in (1). (3) In the method for continuous casting, the wire or the rod contains one or more kinds selected from Mg, Bi, Ca, Te, Yb, Tl, and lead. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
