Temperature measurement method for use with a particle filter, especially for regeneration of a diesel particle filter. According to the method, the temperature of an outlet surface (22) of the filter element (18) of the particle filter (2) is measured. An independent claim is made for a device for temperature measurement of a particle filter comprising at least a photo-element (28) for spectroscopic measurement of the temperature of an outlet surface of the filter.
