<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat-sensitive recording medium which has a heat-sensitive coloring layers obtained by printing with a water-dispersible heat-sensitive ink or a water-dispersible ink in an ink receiving layer, according to a printing method using a plate, wherein the heat-sensitive recording medium can exert a sufficient coloring concentration and a sufficient coloring sensitivity, and to provide a method of manufacturing the heat-sensitive recording medium. <P>SOLUTION: The heat-sensitive recording medium is formed of a substrate 2, the ink receiving layer 3, the heat-sensitive coloring layers 4a, 4b, 4c, and a coloring auxiliary layer 5. The ink receiving layer is formed on a surface of the substrate. The heat-sensitive coloring layers are formed in one body with the ink receiving layer 3 by impregnating the ink receiving layer 3 with the water-dispersible heat-sensitive ink which is produced by dispersing a pigment component containing at least an electron accepting compound and an electron donating compound in water. The coloring auxiliary layer 5 contains at least one of the electron accepting compound and a sensitizer, and it is formed on the heat-sensitive coloring layers 4a, 4b, 4c. Although the recording medium can exert insufficient coloring concentration and coloring sensitivity by provision of the heat-sensitive coloring layers 4a, 4b, 4c on the ink receiving layer 3 according to the printing method, by virtue of the action of the electron receiving compound and the sensitizer contained in the coloring auxiliary layer 5, the coloring concentration and coloring sensitivity of the heat-sensitive coloring layers 4a, 4b, 4c are improved. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
