PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing device capable of excellently performing fixing processing by excellently transporting recording paper without causing paper jamming or the like even when several sheets of recording paper are transported in a superposed state, and to provide an image forming apparatus equipped therewith.

SOLUTION: The fixing device 10 is equipped with a pressure roller 21 and a peeling roller 31 press-contacting with a heating roller 11. The rollers 21 and 31 are arranged in press-contact with the roller 11 so that a line (n) orthogonal to a line (m) and passing a 1st nip part may come into contact with an area between a point (x) and a point y1 on the outer surface of the roller 31.
