<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To lock a lift plate by a simple configuration to prevent vibration when transporting a paper feed cassette without increasing the number of components. <P>SOLUTION: A lift plate 20 with paper sheets P stacked on an upper face thereof and a widthwise cursor 30 to position the paper sheets P in the width direction are provided on a cassette frame 10 of a paper feed cassette 1. Two cursor engagement projections 24 of the lift plate 20 are provided respectively at the right and left sides of the center line in the width direction of the paper sheet of the lift plate 20. A lift plate engagement hole 32 is formed in the widthwise cursor 30. When the widthwise cursor 30 is brought close to the lift plate 20 with the lift plate 20 in a collapsed manner, the cursor engagement projection 24 is inserted in the lift plate engagement hole 32 and engaged therein, and the lift plate 20 is locked.
