<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixed conscious sedation system using a time variant vibration stimulus for the purpose of evaluating the level of sedation of a certain patient, and to provide a method thereof. <P>SOLUTION: The method for determining the level of sedation in the patient who is receiving a conscious sedation drug comprises: a step of applying a first vibration stimulus to the certain patient; a step of monitoring a patient's response to the vibration stimulus; and a step of applying an additional vibration stimulus to the patient; wherein the time interval between the pulses and/or the duration of the pulses can be altered. The method also comprises: a step of monitoring the patient's response to the additional vibration stimulus; and a step of determining the patient's level of sedation by repeating the steps of applying an additional vibration stimulus to the patient and monitoring patient's response to the above additional vibration stimulus. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
