PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a linear motor in which the weight of an armature is reduced and variation in thrust force is eliminated. SOLUTION: The linear motor comprises an armature having a hollow three-phase coil 3 applied with a conductor tubularly, and a plurality of magnets 60 each having a magnetic pole arranged oppositely to the outer circumferential surface of the three-phase coil 3 such that the magnetic poles of the same polarity face each other wherein only the three-phase coil 3 exists between the opposing magnets.
