PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a load adaptive DC power supply in which a DC regulator and a switching regulator can be juxtaposed through a simple arrangement while realizing reduction in size and cost. SOLUTION: The DC power supply is arranged such that a timer circuit 12 counting a predetermined time is employed as a means for controlling driving of the switching element Q2 in a switching regulator, a load current judging means 11 outputs a signal for driving the timer circuit 12 when the current level of the load current (circuit current of a DC regulator) reaches a threshold level, and a drive circuit 9 turns the switching element Q2 on for the predetermined time.
