PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a handsfree apparatus for portable telephones which is small-sized, light, and inexpensive. SOLUTION: This is a handsfree apparatus for enabling a driver to make a handsfree telephone conversation using a portable telephone 1 in a car, and is provided with a handsfree apparatus body 2 which can be attached to the speaker portion 10 of the portable telephone 1 easily by the use of a clip 25, a microphone 20 provided in the body 2, an oscillator 21, and an FM modulation means 22. The body 2 has a function of transmitting by radio through the use of an FM carrier, a received sound signal from a telephone conversation partner received by the portable telephone 1.
