PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data transfer method by which a required isochronous band is secured and digital video data is transmitted in the case of transmitting the digital video data of any data format. SOLUTION: The data format of the transferred digital video data is discriminated when transferring the digital video data recorded on a recording medium (step S302), and the data is transmitted by broadcast connection using the 63rd channel when the discriminated data format is an SD format (step S303). The data is transmitted through point-to-point connection using other channel than the 63rd channel when the data format requires a greater band than the band required for the SD format (step S304).
