PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a data transmission and reception device to be operated by an infrared ray communication function of a mobile information terminal without setting remote control codes previously. SOLUTION: The data transmission and reception device 102 transmits a list when receiving a content list request from the mobile information terminal 101 via a network 100. The mobile information terminal 101 notifies the content selected by a user to the device 102. The device 102 decodes the selected content, and performs re-coding to be displayed by the mobile information terminal 101. A code producing unit 110 produces combined data of the remote control codes including reproduced position information. The content data performed the re-coding and combined data of the remote control codes are multiplexed and transmitted to the mobile information terminal 101 via the network 100.
