PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reserve recording corresponding to the intention of a user while suppressing the consumption of a recording medium. SOLUTION: This program recorder comprises: a tuning means for tuning a broadcasting program; a recording means for recording the broadcasting program tuned by the tuning means; a viewing information acquisition means for acquiring viewing information including the tuning information of the broadcasting program tuned by the tuning means; a viewing history storage means for storing the history of the viewing information acquired by the viewing information acquisition means; a prediction means for learning the tendency of the broadcasting program that the user views on the basis of the viewing history stored in the viewing history storage means and predicting the broadcasting program of a high possibility to be viewed; a recording setting means for setting the broadcasting program to be recorded on the basis of the predicted result of the prediction means; and a recording control means for controlling the tuning means and the recording means and controlling the recording of the broadcasting program on the basis of the viewing information acquired by the viewing information acquisition means and the setting result of the recording setting means.
