PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a network system for railroad vehicles capable of easily constructing an inter-formation network only by connecting intra-formation networks between vehicle formations even in the case of connecting different vehicle formations together and easily dividing them as well. SOLUTION: A transmission system using TCP/IP or UDP/IP which is an Internet protocol is adopted and unique IP addresses are allocated to respective transmitters so as to get acquainted which transmitter of which formation the respective transmitters are not only for the transmitters within the vehicle formations 1 and 2 but also for the ones over the vehicle formations. For that, the IP address in which the third byte and fourth byte of the IP address are a vehicle formation identification number and a transmitter identification number is allocated to each transmitter.
