PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize an echo canceller that is simple in a configuration, has a low load, and can naturally suppress an echo. SOLUTION: The echo canceller can precisely fill a band in which the signal level of voice is low without enabling a user to perceive a signal for learning by superimposing the signal for learning consisting of pink noise in synchronization with a change in the signal level of a telephone receiving signal to the telephone receiving signal, and can naturally suppress echoes by allowing an adaptive filter to efficiently learn. Additionally, when a subband-type adaptive filter is used, reliable learning can be made in the entire subband even if the number of subband divisions is increased, thus decreasing a processing load in the echo canceller by increasing the number of subband divisions.
