PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display wherein a gap in a region where a sealing material is applied on the periphery of substrates is made uniform to enhance display quality and a shortcircuit between drawn wirings and defective curing of the sealing material can be suppressed and to provide its manufacturing method. SOLUTION: In the liquid crystal display formed by sticking a TFT substrate 2 and a counter substrate to each other by using the sealing material, a sealing material disposed region 6 of a wiring drawing part on the periphery of the TFT substrate 2 is classified into three or more regions including a region where the density of the drawn wirings 8 is high, a region where the density of the drawn wirings 8 is low and a region where the drawn wirings 8 are not formed and dummy patterns 9 having a prescribed shape are formed at a layer different from that of the drawn wirings 8 in the two or more regions of at least one side considering an effective height (an average level difference) from a substrate surface calculated by dividing the sectional surface of a constituent member by its width and a curing condition of the sealing material.
