PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reversible image display medium capable of color display, capable of image display with very small photoirradiation energy and usable repeatedly for image display and erasure, and to provide an image forming method in which an irradiation method with very small photoirradiation energy is applied. SOLUTION: In the reversible image display medium obtained by stacking photosensitive layers separately containing three photochromic compounds different from one another in at least hue of coloring on a supporting substrate to perform multi-color display, the three photochromic compounds in the colorless state are different from one another in threshold wavelength at which transition to a colored state occurs, and reflective layers which reflect light for making a photochromic compound color is disposed between the undermost photosensitive layer and a photosensitive layer positioned thereon and between the uppermost photosensitive layer and a photosensitive layer positioned thereunder.
