PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a full n-port calibration verification method which is more easily handled than conventional technology and does not require additional standards or additional measurements. SOLUTION: The concepts of "coherence of calibration process" and "calibration consistency" are introduced to verification on full n-port calibrations. In the present verification method, all calibration processes are coherently executed during calibrations, and the propriety of calibrations is verified by examining whether or not contradictions have occurred in systematic error terms acquired by the calibrations. More specifically, in a first method, the presence of redundancy in error terms is utilized to compute the coherence of the calibration processes, and the propriety of calibrations is verified by determining the computed coherency. In a second method, the consistency of error terms is computed, and the propriety of calibrations is determined by determining the computed consistency. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
