PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas discharge preventing equipment eliminating a gas discharging pump or an exhaust gas burner conventionally required at the time of replacement or removal of an existing gas meter, gas piping, etc., or inspection by a test hole provided in the gas piping, or the like, capable of easily, safely and surely preventing discharge of gas into the atmosphere when residual gas is removed. SOLUTION: The gas discharge preventing equipment which removes the gas without discharging the residual gas from the inside of the gas meter or the gas piping into the atmosphere, has a container having an opening of an inner diameter corresponding to an outer diameter of a residual gas takeout part and a socket wrench provided therein. While a spanner part of the socket wrench is made to face an opening side in the container and turnably arranged from the outside, an activated carbon filling container with capability of sufficiently recovering a total gas amount of the residual gas discharged into the container previously put into vacuum condition and having the opening, is arranged outside or inside the container.
